Dear Nobles,

As you read this communication your representatives to the Imperial Council will be in St Louis Missouri for the 134th Imperial Session. There are several items of interest on the “call” for this session not the least of which is doing away with the prerequisite of being a Master Mason in order to petition the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for membership. I believe this will fail as it has done in the past. Many Temples throughout the country are experiencing severe loss of membership but I don’t feel this is how we want to correct the problem.

I want to congratulate Noble and Past Grand Master Dale Havard and the Membership Team for their hard work visiting lodges and securing petitions for the Spring Ceremonial. I congratulate all Nobles that signed petitions and that were instrumental in the great class of 36 new Nobles. It believe it is through the efforts of the Nobility that we will achieve a gain in membership. If you didn’t sign a petition for the spring ceremonial start now by seeking out that Master Mason you know who is not a Shriner and ask him to join your ranks.

To the new Nobles of the spring class I want to remind you that you will get out of the Shrine what you put into it. Find yourself a unit to participate in or start a new one. The Shrine belongs to you and its future is what you will mold it into.

I would also like to thank the Shrine Units and Clubs for their efforts during the spring paper sales. Abba’s transportation fund and Shriners Hospital for Children as well as the children we serve locally are the beneficiaries of your efforts. It isn’t too early to start planning for our fall paper sales and let’s make these larger than spring’s.

We experienced another great gun show and bar-b-que last month thanks to the tireless efforts of Illustrious Sir Jerry Fulford and all the Nobles and Ladies that came out and gave of their time to make it a success. Thanks to you all!

The Southeastern Shrine Association will be held in Nashville August 6th through 9th. It is necessary that you call the Temple office now to secure your reservations for the hotel, the bus and the Grand Ole Opry. The bus will be leaving Thursday the 7th in the morning.

2008 is now half over and Lady Sharon and I want to thank everyone for their help this year. This is your Shrine Center and it is the Nobility and Ladies that hold the place together and make things happen. I have tried my best to implement things for the betterment of Abba and will continue to do so throughout the year but it is with your help and work that we improve. We have been having good crowds at Social Night on Friday nights. Come out and renew old friendships or make new ones.
